April? What April?

All I can say for the past month is that I don't remember much of what happened. I'm hoping my ailment was in fact from the evil pine trees that spread their pollen like a magic dust upon the land. Some could resist but others fell. I may have been a casualty. When next year rolls around we shall see.

In the mean time my blog has suffered a terrible fate. It's inevitably easy not to write. I always feel like whatever I say will be communicated at some point whether or not I write it. This aspect prevents me from writing. Likewise, those that I do tell about my life here (those that read) will probably talk to me anyway. As you can see I'm doing double time. But the point of this is not to cut down on how much I have to work or anything like that. I like providing a glimpse into my life and my thoughts on a more reflective level. This serves a good purpose for that.

I've been sick about a week but feel much better. Despite my sickness and being stuck in my house with the internet as my gateway to the outside, I have managed to feel rather happy about life. I probably take on more isolation than I have to which results in lonely feelings at times. It is good to know, however, that some people around here keep their thoughts about me. Today the vice principal from the elementary stopped by to deliver something for me and see how I was. The 5th and 6th graders went on a field trip from last week, more like a school vacation, to Hiroshima and some other famous places in Japan. They were so excited to go. Anyway this is the omiyage (souvenir) I received from one student.

6th Grade Omiyage

How delightful is this? Maple leaf manju from Miyajima and some rice snacks. The note is a little confusing because I'm not sure who was writing it. Nonetheless great. If you need a refresher where Miyajima is take a look into the past. Over two years ago...

So there you go.
